Now, unless you’ve been on a distant planet for the past year, you would’ve heard of AI, and you quite possibly would have used it or heard of different ways it’s going to take over the world or lose people their jobs. Today, we’re going to look at what AI in digital marketing means, for businesses, clients and the future of the industry as a whole. The first big name that started popping up everywhere was Chat GPT, an AI service that allows you to ask it pretty much anything, including asking it to work out calculations, answer questions and more importantly for those using AI in digital marketing, it can create ‘bespoke’ content. Many agencies are even supporting ai driven digital marketing, so it's something that we're sure to hear about more. We’ll get into that shortly, and also whether content can truly be bespoke and unique.
Imagine you need to write a 1000-word blog post on ‘How to make the most out of social media’. You would pop onto Chat GPT, and write exactly that. The prompt would you look something like this. “Write me a 1000-word blog post on the subject ‘How to Make the Most out of Social Media’. Within a split second, it will start typing out your supposedly ‘unique’ blog post. Firstly, we have to praise how incredible it is to watch it in action. It’s writing faster than you can think or type. Thoughts run through your head, ‘This is going to change my life’.. ‘our work will be so much easier with this’… Of course, we all know that most things that sound too good to be true, generally are, and in our opinion, this case is no different. While Chat GPT can be used as an incredible tool, generate creative ideas, help work things out quickly, save time, and it really can be beneficial for people in digital marketing to use AI.

However, when it comes to creating true high-quality SEO content, nothing matches what a human can produce. It’s also pretty clear that after using Chat GPT a few times, it isn’t as unique as it makes out when it comes to content creation. It will use very, very similar sentences but mix them up in a different order, replace just one or two words, and sometimes, straight up repeat them. So it makes you wonder, have you just got the same content as someone else that’s using the service for the same reason? Not so unique after all.

It’s not a matter of opinions either, we’ve tested it and uploaded content that is human-written and SEO optimised, compared with Chat GPT AI content, and let’s just say, there was a clear winner, and I think you know who takes the crown on this one and which ranks better.

Chat GPT is just one of many text-based AI services, Google has its own version called Bard, Bing has integrated AI into its search engine, and Meta has also recently launched its own. Everyone is getting in on the action, and we’re sure we’re gonna see and hear a lot more over the next few years, as the technology continues to advance to levels beyond our expectations.

But using AI in digital marketing doesn’t stop there. You can also use AI to generate images. This is something that really plays with our minds.
